Police in Damariscotta, Maine, resolved a string of reports about a mysterious hairy figure wandering the town after determining it was a man wearing a Bigfoot costume, according to an enthusiast source.

According to that source, several local residents called police after witnessing what they described as a hairy hominid walking around the area, with roughly a half-dozen calls reporting a strange bipedal figure covered in hair. The figure was reportedly seen on Main Street and outside a local school, the source said.
